Key Responsibilities
Supplier-Facing Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute strategic sourcing initiatives to negotiate competitive supplier contracts for consortium members.
- Manage supplier relationships, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, service-level agreements (SLAs), and performance metrics.
- Conduct market analysis to identify new supplier opportunities and drive continuous improvement in pricing, quality, and service levels.
- Lead contract negotiations, renewals, and amendments, ensuring favorable terms for consortium members.
- Monitor supplier performance and implement corrective action plans as needed.
Customer-Facing Responsibilities:
- Engage with mid-market consortium members to understand their procurement needs, business objectives, and category requirements.
- Develop and implement membership engagement strategies to maximize participation and savings.
- Provide guidance on contract utilization, compliance, and best practices for members.
- Communicate regularly with consortium members to provide updates on sourcing initiatives, contract changes, and market trends.
Consortium Management Responsibilities:
- Oversee the governance and operational framework of the consortium, ensuring transparency and alignment with best practices.
- Establish and maintain compliance guidelines to ensure ethical and efficient procurement practices.
- Drive reporting and analytics efforts to measure consortium performance, member savings, and supplier impact.
- Lead efforts to expand and onboard new members, increasing purchasing power and leveraging economies of scale.
- Collaborate with internal teams to enhance procurement technology, data reporting, and automation initiatives.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in procurement consortiums, cooperatives, GPOs, or similar group purchasing structures.
- Demonstrated experience in supplier negotiations, contract management, and supplier performance evaluation.
- Strong understanding of procurement operations, category management, and strategic sourcing.
- Experience managing customer relationships and driving engagement in a membership-based procurement model.
- Ability to analyze market trends and procurement data to drive informed decision-making.
- Proficiency in procurement tools such as SAP Ariba, Coupa, or other sourcing platforms.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
